Snagged at the top of the Alpine Visitor Center at Rocky Mountain National Park—where yes, there was still snow in August—these tall socks were a last-minute lifesaver after hours of barefoot hiking through trails, gravel, and sun-warmed rock. My soles may have been dusty, but these socks were brand new when I slipped them on to warm up for the chilly drive down from 11,796 feet.
They only had one quick mountain adventure before being peeled off when I hit the heat again at the base.
